PHOTOGRAPHY

Jelle was fantastic from start to finish. From our very first meeting he supported us with advice and assistance, thinking of things we would never have considered ourselves. Jelle helped ensure we could enjoy our wedding day without a worry and had chosen the best spots in Ghent for our photo shoot. Because he could blend in so well among the guests, he also managed to capture beautiful moments. A few weeks after the wedding day we received a lovely box with a selection of the best photos and a USB stick with all the photos. A complete package! Jelle is the perfect photographer for any wedding.

My story
As a wedding photographer in Antwerp, I do one thing above all else: make sure you can breathe on your wedding day. No stress, no forced poses, no day that feels like a photo shoot. Just your story, as it really is.

Photography runs in my blood. My grandfather made films, my uncle took photos. Ever since I was a child, the most important thing to me was seeing the people around me happy. When I was 16, my parents gave me my first camera, and from that moment the passion was ignited. The step into wedding photography felt completely natural.

In 2016, I was woken up in the middle of the night by a phone call. A woman, clearly in a panic: "Help, I got your name from a cousin of mine. I'm getting married tomorrow in Antwerp and my wedding photographer is sick. Can you help?" I won't lie, I was nervous. But it didn't take long before I said yes wholeheartedly.

A month later, I personally delivered the photos to the couple. The feeling I got at that moment was indescribable. You can't imagine how good it feels to see people cry with happiness. That was my turning point.

Since then, I've fully immersed myself in this profession. Followed online courses, researched, kept practising and improving myself, refined my editing and photographed the most diverse range of weddings. That's how I developed my own style: spontaneous wedding photography, documentary wedding photography, real moments without direction. Since 2024 I've been living in Antwerp and since 2026 I've been working from my atelier on the Oranjestraat.

But what I love doing most? Putting couples at ease. I take the time to get to know you beforehand. I get a feel for how you are together and love to translate that into images that truly resonate. Because not everyone is used to standing in front of a camera, and that's perfectly fine. My goal is to completely remove that barrier, so that you have a wedding photographer in Antwerp by your side who knows and understands you.

A wedding should never feel like a film set. That's why I work as unobtrusively as possible. I observe, I capture, and I occasionally mingle with the guests so they feel at ease too. What you get back afterwards are not staged wedding photos that I set up for you, but an honest and spontaneous account of your own day. Not one that I created for you.

Stress-free wedding photography begins for me long before the big day. You usually only plan your wedding once, so if something doesn't go as planned, I'm there to think along and adjust. Calmly, without drama, just someone you can lean on when you're not quite sure what to do.

Whether you're getting married in the centre of Antwerp or somewhere outside it: my approach stays the same. Bringing calm, maintaining overview and making sure you can simply be present.

And finally: I'm known for my spontaneity and my clumsiness, which often makes people laugh.
Will you give me the chance to capture your story?
